Sandwiched between the two greatest kings of Judah--Hezekiah and Josiah--are two of the worst three (and the worst of all!) kings in Judah's history: Manasseh and Amon. Throughout Manasseh's reign, the Kings' author is weaving conquest and anti-conquest imagery to prefigure why God's judgment on Judah is immanent.
