On the Third Day (Luke 13.31–35)

When Jesus responds to the Pharisees in Luke 13.31–35 he melds together two contradictory concepts--death and life--to emphasize his mission. These two concepts come together at Jerusalem, where all of those things which were promised will occur on the third day.
